Hilly Coufreur
Hilly paints bold and vibrant landscapes, semi abstracted with line and colour. She works in oils with a palette knife and she enjoys painting 'en plein air', it gives her work a fresh and immediate feel. Working wet-in-wet she concentrates on creating texture and movement with the buttery oil paints. The rural countryside and coastline of WA are captured with bold colours. Hilly undertook an artist-in-residence in Mandurah in 2017 and as a culmination, had a successful solo exhibition. In 2018 she won the Margaret River Art Prize.
