Rumma Designs jewellery pieces are designed and made by Kim Christian in Fremantle, Western Australia. Her jewellery pieces capture ethically sourced ocean treasures and every piece is unique. Rumma means 'to collect periwinkles' in Norfuk which is the creole language spoken on Norfolk Island, a tiny island in the South Pacific. Norfuk is a mixture of old English and Tahitian originally spoken by the Bounty mutineers and Tahitian women who settled on Pitcairn Island. The Pitcairn Islanders eventually migrated to Norfolk Island. Kim is a descendant of Fletcher Christian, the leader of the Mutiny of the Bounty and was lucky to spend most of her childhood on Norfolk Island. She remembers how fun it was exploring the reef at Emily Bay on Norfolk Island when the tide was out. Her love for beachcombing continues today and inspired her to start Rumma Designs.
