Originally from the UK, Kate Ellis moved to Australia in 1986. Since her three girls have grown, her strong interest in art has developed into a passion. Ellis has experimented with numerous mediums including oils, pastels, coloured pencil, water colour and digital art – drawing always being a favourite. Having been a member of WASA since 2013, she is currently working in ink on Ampersand Bord drawing native Australian birds using her own photographs. Ellis has exhibited in numerous exhibitions including WASA, Newman College, Hale School, City of Stirling, Army Art and PLC. In 2014 she won the best in category award, 2015 2 x highly commended awards, 2016 highly commended, 2017 highly commended from the WASA annual art exhibition.
