Karijini is a beautiful place. "It inspires beautiful paintings. It makes me happy, but it also makes me sad. Lest we forget, to borrow Kipling's line, that this beauty has a price that this European artist did not pay. The Aboriginal people of Australia have been paying this price for hundreds of years. This place is not our place, yet we love it so. We want to belong here, but I feel I need to give back to earn the right." Eden sees his art as a gift. "For this work I give my respect and gratitude to the Banyjima, Kurrama and Innawonga people. This is your land and it always will be. I am privileged to have seen it, walked upon it and now to draw it. Thank you."
