Feeling like she never fits the norm as a painter, with her diverse range of subjects and styles, Cynthia is many artists in one. Exploring every technique that interests her with oils and acrylics, she adlibs at times with pen, pastel and ink. Born in Melbourne, Victoria in 1969, Cynthia began painting at the age of 8 from Arthur Streeton books given to her by her Aunty. At 24 she moved to Perth, then to the beautiful southern town of Albany in 2001, where the stunning beaches, ranges, wildflowers and the quaint little town became her inspiration. Experimenting, technique and the love of colour drives this witty artist to push the boundaries of her medium in pursuit of learning and creating something different. She circles back around to a theme introducing a new element each time she creates a piece. Her work is exciting and always changing. Cynthia sells her work through exhibitions and shows, Blush Retail Gallery, Aura Gallery, Collie Art Gallery, (all in WA),and her website. Her recent achievements are: Finalist for the 2022 Glover Art Prize; chosen for the Public Art Commission, Albany Health Campus Oncology Wing; and supplying artworks for the new Albany Hilton Garden Inn Hotel.
